MaryAnn Ward brings a new face to the Prairie Artists Guild. Always a Saskatchewan girl, MaryAnn’s country roots shine through her almost realistic acrylic paintings of birds, wildlife, and flowers of the prairies.
As a child with nothing more than scrap pieces of paper and stubby HB pencils, MaryAnn sat alone in her room sketching portraits of images she found in catalogues and magazines. Creativity would need to find other avenues of expression for the next few decades of gardening & landscaping, home renovations, and music.
In January 2016, after the passing of her mother, MaryAnn felt the nudge to return to her creative call, as she wrote and illustrated her first children’s book, Olivia & Me. Now an author, illustrator, and publisher of several more titles, her creativity pulses through the pages. Her inspirational blogs reach and encourage thousands of people every year globally. Through a short online introduction to prophetic art and acrylic painting, MaryAnn found yet another passion for creative expression. Though only an emerging artist, her works are quickly becoming recognizable as she successfully sells her prophetic and nature-inspired paintings at art fairs and festivals in the surrounding area.
