My name is Kayla Leibel and I am a proud member of the Peepeekisis Cree Nation on Treaty 4 territory in southern Saskatchewan, Canada. I have lived in Regina, Saskatchewan for most of my life. I work full-time as a welder/fabricator, and in my spare time I love to draw and paint.

From a very young age, my love for art grew into what would soon become a life-long passion that remains an integral part of my day to day life. I remember drawing alongside my father, uncles, and grandparents on numerous occasions as not only an activity for myself, but a bonding moment with family.

In my adult years, my love for drawing has evolved into a love for creating portraits of people and animals, having had my artwork in an auction for the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre fundraiser and on display at various art galleries in Regina. Although I was ecstatic to have my art in professional galleries, I am incredibly proud of the fact that the effort I put in for my artwork was able to raise funds for adolescents to help them receive life-saving treatments. Recently, I have begun to incorporate my love for art with welding, creating small metal sculptures that includes roses and owls.
