Anita Kohl is a self-taught artist from Regina, Saskatchewan, whose passion for art began in childhood when her talent was first recognized by her teachers. One of them, celebrated Regina painter Wilf Perrault, offered her the simplest and most powerful advice an artist can receive: “Just do it.” She’s been doing it ever since.
Her early works—portraits and pencil drawings—earned several top awards in local exhibitions. Though her career took her down other professional paths, Anita never stopped creating, finding ways to weave art into everything she does.
Over the years, she has continued to grow as an artist through courses, workshops, and experimentation. Acrylics are her primary medium, but she also explores alcohol inks, pastels, and the delicate textures of botanical monoprinting. Her subjects vary—portraits, landscapes, and still lifes—all reflecting her curiosity and evolving sense of style.
Anita describes herself as still finding her artistic voice, but she knows one thing for certain: this is the path she was meant to follow.
