Margaret Anderson

Margaret has been painting for over 30 years in various mediums including oils, pastels, watercolours and most recently in Acrylics.  Growing up on a farm near Indian Head and inspired by the beauty of snow, clouds and prairie landscapes,  her works  focus on rural Saskatchewan and the Qu’Appelle Valley.  Many of her paintings capture the  warmth from  winter vacations spent on the Mexican Pacific Coast.

At the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Margaret obtained her Bachelor of Administration degree and then pursued a rewarding management career in both the private and public sectors.  During this time, art always played a key role in her spare time.

Over the years, she has taken workshops from several artists including master painter Zhong Yang Huang, Jack Reid (watercolour, Ontario), Riffat Hussain (watercolour, Regina), Jose Baldi (acrylic, Mexico). She has participated in many group art shows over the years and belonged to a number of guilds, the most recent being the Prairie Artists Guild. She also continues to be a member of and has shown paintings at the Art Gallery of Regina over the years.  Her work is in both private and corporate collections across Canada.

Having retired from work in 2016, she has picked up her brushes and is enjoying the continuous process of learning and developing her artistic skills.
